Time to share another beading tutorial. This time, it's a huichol flower pattern for earrings that have a '3D' look thanks to the raised centre and hanging petals.

Huichol workshops at Mestizo

Wednesday, June 28, 2017 Viridiana Diaz Padilla 0 Comments

Last weekend I was invited to Mestizo's Mexican Market in London to run a number of Huichol Jewellery workshops.
The sessions covered an introduction to the Huichol people and culture, the fundamentals of Huichol symbols and hand-on training on either a bracelet, necklace or ankle bracelet.

A post shared by Peiote (@peiotejewellery) on

The event was great fun and we all went as a family. While I was running the workshops the girls were playing with their own bead set making their own kids bracelets.

Thanks Mestizo for inviting us and looking forward to future events!

If you haven't yet been to the Mestizo Mexican Market be sure to plan a trip next time you're in West London. They stock an amazing range of authentic Mexican arts & crafts and even loads of Mexican food. And, they're located right next to Mestizo Restaurant - so you can double up and have a great lunch or dinner. They're close to Euston Station, on Hampstead Road

Spring at last

Sunday, March 19, 2017 Viridiana Diaz Padilla 4 Comments

And with Spring come new styles a colours.
Over the past few months I've been working on some new necklace styles and colours which I'm happy to share today.
The first two are choker style, with vibrant striking colours and a range of linear or triangular patterns.
These following are looser in fit a cover more of the mid chest.
And finally, something a little different. Black with contrasting blue lines and a deep black but shiny onyx stone.
Would love to hear what you think.

Monarca earrings

Saturday, February 25, 2017 Viridiana Diaz Padilla 0 Comments

Monarca earrings are inspired by the Monarch butterflies that come to my home state of Michoacan every year during their annual migration south from the US and Canada.

I have a number of standard colours; white, black and orange but as always these can be made in any colour of your choice - so don't hesitate to ask.
